SoG: Books and Starter Box

Hey guys,

Today we want to take a look at the three different types of books, as well as the starter box, which will be available when the Shards of Gods Kickstarter campaign goes live in the near future!

Shards of Gods features three types of books, which you can use to play the game as you and your group prefer.

Adventure Books contain exciting adventures within the realms of Elun and are created by the dedicated team of Mad Lizard Games. The first one, “The Fortress of Secrets” is already included in the starter box, ready to be explored.

Map&Battlemap Books, named “Places of Elun”, contain a large number of battlemaps for fights and encounters you will face during your adventures, as well as region- and city-maps of some of the most important locations. Places of Elun 1 and 2 are already included in the starter box.

The Worldbuilding Book, “Wonders of Elun”, contains additional interesting lore and details of Elun, as well as rules for advanced character creation and content that you can use to forge additional playable adventures in the world of Shards of Gods. This one is especially interesting for lore enthusiasts and all you gamemasters out there 😉 Wonders of Elun is not included in the Starter Box.

The Shards of Gods Starter Box contains all essentials in one place and is ideal for diving right into the game.

To get started quickly, you can use one of many unique pre-written characters, each with their own backstory, personality and skills. If you want to make your experience more personal, the game includes everything you need to create your own character, to forge your own destiny.

Standees and tokens provided in the game represent different entities, though you can use your own miniatures of course. Other tokens can be used to mark additional elements on the map, such as traps, other obstacles or objects you are able to interact with in a specific way.

All advanced skills and items have cards, allowing players to keep track of the progression and development of their characters. By providing an easy-to-understand overview of the current status of your party without the need for notes, you can enjoy your adventures with less delays.
